Before and After

The water has dried up now. I was cleaning up the house last night, so we could move back in, and as I was sorting through clothes, I happened to look up at our family photo on the entertainment center.  It was taken in August of 2011.  426646_3437833467732_1406520389_nWe had just been reunited after 20 years apart, and we were as giddy as we were when we were together as teenagers. Looking back now, it seems that we were so naive and innocent when it was taken. Oh, what a difference a little time can make!

This was taken on Saturday, 5 days after we survived the rising of the Little Pigeon River. imagejpeg_2-4_zps78983a94The look says it all!

BRING IT.

Just read your last post and this one . . . still sending as much positive energy your way as I can! Your strength through it all is inspiring!

While I know things are tough right now . . . both from this and other things we’ve talked about . . . I am so happy that you and Adam have each other! ❤

    • Thank you, Dayle ❤ Sometimes you just gotta roll with whats going on! Adam looked at the trailer when we first got home, he just shrunk down and said "What do we do?" I didn't know what to do either, because I haven't lived through this before, so I took his hand and said "Mom always said if a job was too big, to eat the elephant one bite at a time."

One thing, one hurdle, one problem at a time 🙂 We'll hear back from the insurance company tomorrow or Thursday (their assessor finally showed up yesterday). The ruined clothes and shoes have been tossed, the clothes/shoes we got from our (incredibly sweet) friends has been washed and hung up. The Red Cross helped us out tremendously with lodging, food, and gas/propane to replace what was lost. Fridge has been cleaned out and restocked (that smell was glorious, let me tell you). Our cars have been steadily airing out – what a wonderful smell with that, too – lol.
